Welcome to BraxtonMedia.com, I am your host Dan Braxton. I am a thirty something new media aficionado from the Chicago area. I grew up at the feet of my maternal grandparents who first came to Chicago during the mid twentieth century Black migration north. I grew up in Maywood Illinois but now reside in Chicago’s South Loop. I work full time as a Supervisor in the creative services department of a well known investment bank. I spend way too much time surfing the web and playing video games. I also love to travel or just explore the local offerings of my great city. I am into all things technology, sci-fi, anime and of course I am a gadget freak.

The mission of BraxtonMedia.com has continuously evolved over the near decade I have been online. Once strictly a freelance for-profit platform my website has more recently become a creative outlet for my own new media projects. I work well with the Adobe Creative Suite, I am a certified MS Office user, I turn out video projects and motion graphics using a combination of Adobe After Effects, Ultra, Flash and Adobe Premier. I even play around with 3D rendering in Poser and AutoDesk’s 3ds Max. It’s not just a career, I love this stuff. You might read a book to pass an evening, I rig a green screen, shoot some footage and rock out to old 80s hits while I clean it up in post production. To each his own I guess.

I hope you enjoy my musings. I expect to focus on current events, technology, sports and my travels, of course the subject matter may contain anything depending on my mood.
