Dreams Do Come True: I Give you Prague!

This destination has been on my bucket list for decades and I finally made the trip happen this August. Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is a beautiful and historic city with a rich cultural heritage. Located in the heart of Europe, it is a popular destination for travelers looking to experience the beauty of the Old World.

Here are some things to consider when planning a visit to Prague:

  1. Explore the old town: The old town of Prague is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is filled with beautiful buildings, squares, and churches. Stroll through the winding streets and take in the stunning architecture, or visit one of the many museums and galleries that can be found here.
  2. Visit the Prague Castle: The Prague Castle is a must-see attraction in the city. Located on a hill overlooking the city, the castle is a massive complex that includes several buildings, including the Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral and the Royal Palace.
  3. Take a walk across the Charles Bridge: The Charles Bridge is a historic stone bridge that spans the Vltava River and connects the old town with the Lesser Town. It is a popular spot for tourists, and offers beautiful views of the city.
  4. Try some Czech cuisine: Czech cuisine is hearty and flavorful and features dishes such as roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut, goulash, and schnitzel. Don’t miss the opportunity to try some of these traditional dishes while you’re in Prague.
  5. Visit the beer gardens: The Czech Republic is known for its delicious beer, and Prague has a number of beer gardens where you can sit and enjoy a pint. Whether you’re looking for a traditional pub experience or a more modern beer garden, there’s something for everyone in Prague.

Prague is a stunning, budget-friendly city with beautiful architecture and vibrant culture. Whether you’re looking for a luxurious stay or a cheap getaway, Prague is the perfect destination. Its location allows for great day trips to other cities like Vienna, Austria, and Munich, Germany. Car rentals are cheaper in person vs. online but waiting until you arrive to rent a car is risky.
